At the SensUs student competition 2024 in Eindhoven, the student team Biosensing Team Twente proudly secured third place for the Potential Translation of their biosensor!
“This is a remarkable achievement for us, as we became an official student team of the University of Twente just this year”, says team captain Caterina Cattabriga. Competing against 17 international student teams at the forefront of innovative biosensing technologies, this achievement underscores the strong potential of the team’s device to make a real-world impact in future healthcare.
The student team designed an aptamer-based biosensor to support early hospital discharge through real-time health monitoring. By providing continuous disease surveillance with minimal discomfort for the patient, it offers a safer, more comfortable option for managing health conditions under medical supervision.
Who are we
Each year a new group of students builds a biosensor for an application selected by SensUs to compete with other teams from different universities around the globe.
We are backed up by researchers from University of Twente who help us throughout the process of development.
